CGST Guwahati Vacancy Details:

1. Tax Assistant

  • Number of Posts: 1 (Unreserved)
  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university is mandatory. Additionally, candidates must possess basic computer application knowledge and demonstrate a data entry speed of at least 8000 key depressions per hour. This speed will be assessed through a practical test on an electronic data processing machine.
  • Pay Scale: As per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), Level-4 in the pay matrix, ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100 per month.

2. Havaldar

  • Number of Posts: 10 (9 Unreserved, 1 Other Backward Classes)
  • Educational Qualification: Completion of Matriculation or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board is required.
  • Physical Standards: Candidates will need to meet specific physical standards and pass prescribed physical tests as outlined in the new Recruitment Rules.
  • Pay Scale: As per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), Level-1 in the pay matrix, ranging from ₹18,000 to ₹56,900 per month.

Eligibility Criteria for CGST Guwahati Recruitment:

  • Nationality: Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit: Applicants should be between 18 and 27 years of age as of 13th September 2025. Age relaxation will be provided as per government norms, with up to 5 years for general category relaxations and up to 10 years for SC/ST candidates.
